Heart failure
Heart failure is characterized by the heart's inability to pump an adequate supply of blood to the body.
Dr Carmelo Coppolino graduated in 1980 with a grade of 110/110 and honors at "La Sapienza" University in Rome. Afterwards postgraduate degree in cardiovascular diseases at Catania University.
He has attended several training courses in advanced echocardiography and vascular echo-Doppler at renowned national and international universities; he has participated in various refresher courses in prestigious European health facilities (eg "Update in diagnostic and therapeutic techniques in clinical cardiology" at the Toraxcenter in Rotterdam).
From 2002 to 2018 he was a referent of "Mario Negri Institute" in Milan and "ANMCO" for national and international medical trials conducted as Principal Investigator (GISSI-HF, GISSI-AF, Paradigm). From 2003 to 2005 he carried out two short stages at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville (USA).
He mainly worked at the UTIC-Cardiology at Milazzo Hospital until October 2018. Since then he has been working as a freelancer in his medical offices (from November 2019 also at Veneto ULSS2).
